Developed as part of Nike’s “Alpha Project” drive for innovation, the VT was the first ever boot to feature full-length Zoom Air cushioning, so it’s only right that today’s modern Merc should pay homage to such a trailblazer. The retro look shows off classic colours and details from the original, including a specially made sockliner, copper accents, and a stylised Zoom Air callout.
That’s right, Zoom Air: flip the boot upside down for a look at the specially developed forefoot airbag in all its articulated glory.When you push off or change direction, it flexes with your foot and returns energy to propel you into action, working with tri-star studs to enable the dynamic moves that make the difference in the final third.
It’s not just the soleplate that’s faster than ever. Every aspect of the Vaporposite+ upper has been optimised for speed. Ventilated Flyknit and a cut-out Speed Cage lining combine to provide lightweight, flexible support, and the outer layer features chevron texturing, engineered to give a natural, tactile feel on the ball when dribbling at pace.
